How fun was that?

“It was beautiful. It was beautiful for these fans, man. I appreciate everyone who came here under these circumstances, and I pray that everyone gets home safely. Please celebrate. But please come home safely”

How close were they to catching you on a touchdown? What did you see when you got away?

“I saw the end zone. I felt this great protection, and I just moved forward, and we found a way to get in there.

What is the mentality after a few sales figures in the fourth quarter? They take the lead. You clearly have to score. What’s going through your mind?

“Well, every time I come here, I say one play at a time. And that is so important. And we showed that it’s one play at a time. We stick together, we fight for each other and we found a way.”

Can you talk about the fact that you’ve never played the (Pittsburgh) Steelers and you’ve used NFL Films. Were you in the middle of NFL Films?

“Man, you know, that’s it. It was really great. Like, I was just on the sidelines praying because that fourth quarter, it really was like that. It was quite a paradigm shift. We were playing so well offensively, and then we hit back-to-back turnovers, and I’m like, oh my god. This is truly an NFL movie moment. The snow starts to flow down. It’s starting to look like this. I felt like my feet were starting to get heavy as I pushed through the snow. And man, it was so good, and it was so great to finally get that win.

What are the characteristics of a number one receiver?

“The traits of a number one receiver are that he gets open and can make plays after the catch. Look at Jerry Jeudy. You look at Jerry Jeudy and you see the things he does. It opens. He runs after the catch and fights for the football.”

How important is it for you to have a man you can trust like him?

“I have a lot of guys that I can trust, but man, when you have someone who is very talented and has the ability to open up, who has the ability when the moment matters most, he makes the play. I’m grateful to throw the ball to Jerry Jeudy.”

Two TDs by RB Nick Chubb. Big night for him. Any emotion from him?

“You know, I don’t believe in coincidences. And before this game I told Nick, ‘I got you today.’ I know how important this was to him. And we’re not going to talk about last year. You all know the performance, but I’m so grateful and happy that I could see a smile on his face after that great win against this team.

Going forward, for this team, you will get rid of the disappointment that came out of the bye week four days ago. What could this mean for this team in the future?

“We have to take it day by day. Yes, today we are going to celebrate. You know, I’m grateful that the fans came out and showed up, but we have to see this team again in two weeks. We have the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. Another prime time game, and they’re playing well. My boy from Alabama, Bo Nicks, he’s showing, he’s playing. But at the same time, man, we’re going to celebrate today. We need to focus on where our feet are. And now we’re going to celebrate this victory. There are still some things we need to clean up. I still have some things I need to clean up. So we’re still focused on building on the positives and eliminating the negatives.”

Can you tell us something about Myles (Garrett)? He went into this game with a big storyline, went out and just had a monstrous first half…

“You know, you don’t want to put a chip on Myles’ shoulder, okay? Because he’s definitely leaving. And man, I’m just excited. I’m blessed to be part of a team with great players and he’s a phenomenal player. I played with some great players, but you know, he led the charge, man. He spoke to us in the locker room before the game and he called on everyone to step up and fight with him and he really set the tone.”

What was the surface like there?

“Well, man, shout out to the equipment crew for giving us our screws, man. It was good, but it snowed, man. It wasn’t the best base, but this is football, right? This is Cleveland, Ohio. It’s snowing, dude. This is what you live for and what you dream for and what you pray for to be in an environment like this, man, you hope for a win and we got the win. You make snow angels.”

Did the ball slip out of your hand during the interception?

“No, the ball didn’t slip out of my hand. I just missed my target. I missed my target. Elijah (Moore) made a great route and I was too far to his right.

In classic football fashion, you have a cracked helmet with a battery sticking out or something. Can you just talk about what happened there and how did you communicate about the two-pointer afterwards?

“I love this game because there are so many parts that make us go out and do our job. Again, on days like this, obviously in the comfort of your own seat, you don’t realize the people, the equipment staff, the trainers, the media, the people who do things behind the door to make our lives easier. So I’m so grateful that we have these thermals, we had our propellers, we had hand warmers, we had the heated benches, you know, it was great. So call them out.”

Was that the first time you sang ‘Jingle Bells’ after a game?

“The only reason I’m singing ‘Jingle Bells’ is because I Facetimed my wife this morning and my boys were singing in the car on the way to school, so it stuck in my head. When we first arrived here in Cleveland, like on the plane, my boys were singing “jingle bells, jingle bells” because I was telling him about my first trip in March where it snowed out of nowhere. I get my physical and it started snowing. So I told them, ‘Hey, Cleveland is a place where it snows.’ You know, we came from Tampa and New Orleans. They actually didn’t see any snow. The only time they saw snow was when we were back in Alabama. So they sang ‘Jingle Bells’. So they let me sing ‘Jingle Bells’.”

What’s the irony of an Alabama man and a South Florida man making some of the biggest plays in the middle of a snowstorm?

“It just shows you the love of football, what the love of football will do. Football brings together so many people from different areas and backgrounds, and how wonderful is it for us to go out there and perform? I mean, Nick is from Georgia. We’re doing great things, man, and we need to build on it.

How many snow games have you had?

“This is my first. It’s my first snow game.”
