JD Vance lashed out at Taylor Swift after the singer supported Kamala Harris following the vice president’s presidential debate against Donald Trump. Taylor supported the vice president in a lengthy post, signing it off with the caption, “Childless Cat Lady.”

“We admire Taylor Swift’s music, but I don’t think most Americans, whether they like her music or are fans of her or not, are going to be influenced by a billionaire who I think is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and issues of most Americans,” Vance told Fox News’ The Story.

“Look, if grocery prices drop 20 percent, that affects most Americans. Taylor Swift doesn’t get hit. If housing prices become unaffordable, that doesn’t affect Taylor Swift or any other billionaire. It affects the American middle class across our country,” he added.

Meanwhile, Swift wrote on Instagram in support of Harris, alongside a photo of her with a cat: “I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential election. I am voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend. I think she is a determined, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country when we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so encouraged and impressed by her choice of running mate @timwalz, who has been advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to control her own body for decades.”

“Childless cat lady” was a dig at something Vance had said in the past. He told Tucker Carlson in an interview that recently resurfaced that “we’re effectively run in this country — through the Democrat (Party), through our corporate oligarchs — by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are unhappy with their own lives and the choices they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country unhappy, too.”

“If you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC, the entire future of the Democrats is determined by people without children,” he added.
