Jets Star leaves game with possible concussion

Jets receiver Davante Adams left Thursday night’s game against the Texans after taking a hard hit in the third quarter. The team announced that he is being evaluated for a concussion.

Adams was taken to the blue medical tent where he was examined by the league’s non-affiliated neurotrauma consultant. Later he left for the locker room.

Adams went down after completing a 17-yard pass from Aaron Rodgers. He was pushed out of bounds at the Texans’ 31-yard line and was immediately attended to by trainers before slowly getting to his feet.

Adams stood on the sidelines for a few minutes before entering the blue medical tent.

The Jets acquired Adams in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this month, and his six catches for 54 yards before his injury Thursday night are the most he has done with the team since. He had just seven catches in his first two games as a Jet.

Rodgers played with Adams with the Packers from 2014 to 2021 and has said Adams is his all-time favorite target. In the final four years of the Adams-Rodgers duo in Green Bay, Adams averaged 14.5 touchdowns per season.
