Jim Caldwell’s prediction | The first of a few fronts brings the chill

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Well folks, we’ve reached the other side of our first frontal system and I have to say, it feels more like normal out there today!

That first blast of cooler air only treats us to highs in the 60s, a refreshing change from the heat we’ve been experiencing lately. But don’t make it too cozy: this outing is short-lived.

Our next system is already lining up to push into the Bluegrass State, bringing temperatures back into the 70s. Yes, you heard right: we’re talking about a quick rebound, courtesy of front number two. Enjoy the warmth while it lasts, though, as Saturday will bring another rapid temperature drop.

I know some of you may be itching for some precipitation, and while there is a chance of scattered showers, don’t get your hopes up for that just yet. We are not looking at anything important in terms of rain.

The temperature rollercoaster will continue into early next week, with cooler air lingering Saturday through Monday.

And then, just in time for Halloween, our next big system arrives. This system packs a punch, with gusty winds, rain and another temperature swing. Here’s the silver lining: this system represents our best chance for meaningful rain in the forecast.

So mark your calendars, folks – Halloween is shaping up to be quite the weather event!
