Joe Burrow makes brutally honest admission about 2024 season after loss to Chargers

Joe Burrow didn’t try to hide his disappointment after the Cincinnati Bengals fell to 4-7 on the season following Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11.

The Bengals have been victims of close games this year, as six of their seven losses have been by seven or fewer points. You can call it an unfortunate trend for Cincinnati, but Burrow made it clear that it ultimately comes down to the Bengals’ inability to execute in crucial moments.

Burrow told reporters after the game that the 2024 season was the most frustrating season he has ever had. When asked why, he referenced the close nature of Cincinnati’s losses this season, calling it “pretty obvious,” via Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“We’ve just got to make the plays, we’ve just got to make the plays. In the long run, we’re not a good enough team to… our margin for error is small. So we’ve got to make those plays. I’ve got to make those plays, we all have to make those plays,” Burrow said.

After trailing 27-6 at one point in the game, the Bengals staged a franchise-record comeback to tie things at 27. With just one more stop from the defense, the Chargers managed to break free for a go-ahead touchdown with less than 20 seconds remaining in the game.

A late Hail Mary attempt to beat Higgins fell narrowly incomplete, capping off another painful loss for the Bengals as their playoff hopes continue to slip further out of reach.
