John Krasinski was the talk of the town on Tuesday with the unveiling of his new title as People Magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ for 2024.

Krasinski, 45, posed for the annual campaign in a yellow cab in New York City and joked that he had an “instant blackout” when he heard he was receiving the coveted title, which had previously been awarded to Patrick Dempsey, Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Michael B. Jordan, Idris Elba and more.

Krasinski’s wife of 14 years, actress Emily Blunt, was equally excited about the cover and joked that she was interested in wallpaper for their Brooklyn home. “Do we have that on camera? Because it looks like a binding contract, I guess,” Krasinski told People.com. “My kids will love that, it won’t be weird at all.”

The internet went into a frenzy when Krasinski’s cover dropped, with fans and followers complimenting the choice, while some online trolls wondered how “The Office” actor earned the honor of the year.

“Is this real?” one fan wrote, while another said: “After the week we just….”

“What is it anyway,” one user wondered.

“No way,” wrote another follower, with one user repeating similar statements: “That’s a joke.”

“Have all the other men on earth died?” asked another user.

Although some people were outraged, Krasinski also received quite a bit of support on his side.

“This has to be one of the best decisions ever,” said one fan. Another echoed, “I’m not mad about it, Jim Halpert.”

His former The Office co-star Kate Flannery wrote: “About time!”

“John Krasinski is very sexy. Good choice people!!” wrote another fan.

Despite the new title, Krasinski doesn’t think much will change at home with his wife and two daughters, Hazel and Violet.

“I think that will make me do more house chores,” he joked. “When this comes out, she’s like, ‘Okay, that means you’re really going to earn it here at home.’”
