Claim to fame season 3 contestants Mackenzie Adkins And Hud Mellencamp formed a close bond on the ABC reality series, and now their respective fathers, Track Adkins And John Mellencampget acquainted.

While chatting with We weekly exclusively ahead of the season finale on Wednesday, August 28, Mackenzie shared that both Trace, 62, and John, 72, planned to attend a cast viewing party for the final Claim to fame episode.

“Our dads (to this day) think we won (the game),” Mackenzie said. “So they’ll both be a little shocked (when they see) Adam Christopherson win), and they will be there tonight to watch with us.”

Mackenzie, Hud and their fathers are joined by Claim to fame participants Jill Kurlfink, Gracie Lou Hyland, Naomi Brandt, Shane Brando And Nael “Danny” Zayas for the viewing party, Mackenzie said.

“We’re really excited,” she said. “It’s going to be really fun.”

Hud also said he’s pleasantly surprised by how well the cast gets along in real life.

“One thing I thought during the (experience) is, ‘None of us can be friends anymore after (this). You’re going to hear me talking about you in the background the whole time we’re watching this show, and no one’s going to answer my text,'” he joked. “But we’re all hanging out, we’re talking all the time, and I’m very grateful for that.”

Mackenzie and Hud began to seem more than friends on the show as they grew closer and began flirting. While they played it coy about their relationship status during their joint interview, the duo hinted at spending time together.

“He’s here now, so I think this is our answer,” Mackenzie said with a smile.

The Claim to fame The finale party will mark Mackenzie’s first meeting with Hud’s father, though Hud has already had a chance to meet Trace. It will also be Trace and John’s first official meeting, despite them having crossed paths musically in the past.

“I’ve done a Farm Aid or two, but I don’t remember ever meeting (John),” Trace told exclusively Us in a joint interview with Mackenzie, in which he referred to the annual benefit concert that John co-founded.

Although Trace was not familiar with Claim to fame Before joining the cast, Mackenzie thoroughly enjoyed Season 3.

“(It’s) really clever, it’s entertaining,” he said. “It’s a puzzle and you get to participate.”

Trace even has favorite players besides Mackenzie, and one player he’s not so fond of.

“I like Hud and Shane, I think they’ve played the game really well. I think Adam is still there, somehow,” he said. “I don’t really get it.”

The “Ladies Love Country Boys” musician noted that he was “absolutely confident” Mackenzie would do well on the show.

“Mackenzie is very smart and I knew she would act professionally and she did,” Trace said. “She’s always very easy to be around, she always has a smile on her face and it’s just infectious. She’s just a sweet girl and she’s been successful in everything she’s done. She’s never done anything that disappointed me and she’s the only one of my kids that I can say that about.”
