JoJo Siwa recently appeared on the cover of Damegunn magazine, leaving many fans confused by her outfit.

The “Karma” singer was tagged in the publication’s Instagram post, which sees her wearing an all-gold sequined outfit, including a breastplate and jockstrap, as she showed off her arm muscles.

“No hate, I’m just honestly confused,” read one comment.

“Everything I learn about Jojo Siwa happened against my will,” someone joked on X.

“She is so interesting,” wrote a third.

“Who is her target audience now?” asked a fourth.

Siwa first rose to fame in the mid-2010s when he appeared in Dancing mothers as a young teenager alongside her mother, Jessalynn Sita. In 2017, Siwa signed with Nickelodeon and appeared in several shows and movies on the children’s network before rebranding herself as an “edgy” pop star this year with the release of her first single, “Karma.”

“Her managers are making a clown out of her, I really feel sorry for her, she is so young. I really hope she realizes what this all looks like and that she fixes it before it is too late, because they are ruining her career,” wrote a more critical commenter.

Others, however, saw the outfit as a symbol of her new image.

“How about everyone can wear whatever they f***ing want,” was one comment. “How about this? Clothes have no gender. All these comments prove how controlled people are by gender norms. This has to be that and that has to be that. You can’t wear that because whine, whine, whine…”

“JoJo is a genius. An icon. A legend. And will forever be in your thoughts,” wrote another. “Y’all love to hate her but here you are, literally SUPPORTING her with your hate. Good or bad attention or opinion, she’s still raking in the money…so who’s REALLY the clown here? Get it JoJo! You’re dope AF!”

This isn’t the first time Siwa has been criticized for her outfit. Earlier this year, she attended the iHeart Radio Music Awards in the same outfit she wore in her “Karma” music video, which many fans thought was a rip-off of KISS’ iconic black-and-white full-face makeup.

Gene Simmons of the band said TMZ At the time he liked the outfit and anyone who didn’t was probably “jealous” of Siwa.

“Never be ordinary. Always be extraordinary. JoJo is extraordinary and she looks cool,” the rocker told the outlet.

In an interview with E! News During the awards ceremony, Siwa admitted that the judgment probably only came from people who are “afraid of change.”

“People are afraid of things that they don’t know,” she told the outlet on the red carpet. “Things can be scary for people. New things can be very, very scary.”
