Jon Jones finally reveals what Tom Aspinall did that is really getting in his way

Jon Jones has opened up about why he believes Tom Aspinall is an ‘a**hole’, explaining there’s one thing that really rubbed him the wrong way.

With ‘Bones’ retaining his heavyweight title last night, MMA fans around the world are hoping he will finally sign on the dotted line to face the interim champion.

Jon Jones says he doesn’t like Tom Aspinall

At UFC 309, in Madison Square Garden, New York, USA, Jon Jones successfully defended his championship belt via spinning back kick in the third round.

Throughout the match, the champion took advantage of his over-the-hill opponent. Although Stipe Miocic was once a fearsome operator with formidable strength and tremendous wrestling skills, he is no longer the devastating force he used to be.

While the Cleveland athlete did his best to get into the fight, he struggled to get into the action, leaving fans upset as the match never took place while the icon was at the height of his powers.

Regardless, Jones is still king of the division, with fans desperate to see him take on Tom Aspinall.

WOW: ‘I was wrong’… Dana White makes a surprising admission about Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

The potential clash is undeniably mouth-watering. But unfortunately, ‘Bones’ doesn’t do much to reassure the MMA community that it will actually happen.

Throughout the build-up to the weekend fight he was busy with Aspinall. And now he claims his rival’s trash talk has really struck a chord.

At the UFC 309 post-fight press conference, he said: “Coming up with Jon Jones T-shirts, buying a duck, just the little things he does. He’s annoying to me.

“I understand you, you find it entertaining, but I find him annoying. I just don’t like him.

“At the end of the day, if I give him the opportunity to fight me, I want to be compensated like that, I’m going to say it, I want that ‘f**k you’ money, honestly.

“My life is perfect without him; I don’t need it at all. He needs me, and that’s a good place to negotiate.”

Exactly what happened when Tom Aspinall crossed paths with Jon Jones’ brothers at UFC 309

While the Jones vs. Miocic fight took center stage at MSG, Aspinall was undeniably the elephant in the room.

After destroying a plethora of top prospects, many believe the Englishman could be the best in the world.

With that in mind, he made sure he was cage side to scout the man he hoped to one day share the octagon with.

And to do that, he had to encounter Jones’ two NFL Super Bowl-winning brothers, with Aspinall sharing an interesting interaction with the pair of formidable athletes.
