Jon Stewart hosts ‘Daily Show’ live on election night

Jon Stewart is live The Daily Show and is aware that people, especially Democrats, are nervous.

“I know many people who feel anxious. I want to assure you that that is very good for our ratings, so keep it up. Good work there. Don’t take your eyes off the TV at all costs,” he said during the opening of the Comedy Central show.

Stewart started his show with segments from Troy Iwata, Grace Kuhlenschmidt and Jordan Klepper.

Iwata wore a trash outfit reporting on the Trump campaign. “People are really tired of all the positive signs and just want to know the results so they can start the uprising,” he said.

Stewart reminded him that Donald Trump was doing well. “They don’t care; Win or lose, these people are going to shit on Nancy Pelosi’s desk again.”

Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, a particularly close state, was scheduled to appear on the show but apparently pulled out just minutes before he was set to live with Stewart. Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs took his place, saying she was “optimistic” about the results in her state.

“We have one more quick result to report in the race to be my best friend between Senator Fetterman and Governor Katie Hobbs. Governor Katie Hobbs wins with a billion,” he joked.
