JPMorgan Chase & Co. is in talks with Apple Inc. about acquiring a credit card portfolio that rival Goldman Sachs Group Inc. wants to get rid of.

The largest U.S. bank is among several credit card issuers that have considered acquiring Apple’s card, a person familiar with the matter said. The Goldman tie-up, which began about five years ago, was part of an effort to shore up the consumer banking foray of the Wall Street giant, which has since abandoned it.
