Justine Bateman says she’s excited ‘this whole woke era is over’ because of Trump’s victory

Don’t count actress and director Justine Bateman among those upset about Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 election. While speaking with Fox News’ Jesse Watters on Thursday, Bateman revealed that she is “very excited” about Trump’s victory, because, according to her, this means that “this whole woke era is over.”

“What I’m really excited about is that political correctness, the kind of ‘woke’ era, is over, because you need a momentum of mob mentality to keep that going, to threaten people if they don’t think. and talking like you, to threaten their lives, to threaten their careers, to threaten their place in society,” Bateman said. “To do that, you need that momentum, and when Trump became president again, that momentum was cut off. So this whole woke era is over.”

After agreeing with this sentiment, Watters joked that the left is “all divided and arguing with each other, and they are not at fault. They cancel each other. That’s probably a good thing.”

Then he asked, ‘Is it really official? Do you believe it’s official? We’re never going back to abolishing culture. We will never go back to political correctness. You mention it here?’

“Well, I say you need that. I mean, if you look at the mentality of the mafia,” Bateman replied, referring to the Dutch “tulip mania” and the Salem witch trials of the 1960s, “there had to be a mafia mentality, a momentum of mafia mentality. And if you don’t have that, it dies out. And I’m talking about, yeah, things have obviously changed politically, but there’s, it’s spiritual. It is a spiritual change.”

Bateman argued that this “spiritual shift” started “when Elon Musk bought Twitter and turned it into X, and it really changed when Donald Trump won this presidency…. I can feel it. Certainly. I can do it.”

Watters claimed that he and other people “expect” that “a big change” will happen, and asked Bateman, “do you feel that too?”

“Yes,” she replied. “The last four years have been very acute, and I know it preceded these four years as well, but there has been a kind of downward pressure, a downward pressure, and a kind of limitation of what people can say. And what also happens is that you limit what can happen in society at all. And so there is stagnation. There has been no progress in the arts, in philosophy, in politics, in medicine, in anything.”

“I mean innovation, like with your thoughts,” she clarified, “with what comes into your mind, from God, magic, the universe, whatever you want to call it, that’s been stagnant for at least four years, and that’s now the case. changed, and I’m very excited about that. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time.”

Okay then. Watch the clip below:

Bateman is an outspoken opponent of so-called ‘AI’ technology and its use to exploit creative people. She is also a strong supporter of trade union rights. The interview did not address how Trump, Musk and Watters are diametrically opposed to her on all these issues.
