It wouldn’t be Kansas City Chiefs–Cincinnati Bengals matchup without a close finish. And boy, did we get one.

With the help of a pass interference call on fourth down, the Chiefs raced down the field with seconds left to Harrison Butcher within reach of a game-winner. Butker blasted the 51-yarder through the uprights with relative ease and Kansas City won by a score of 26-25.

The Bengals looked much better than their Week 1 disaster, and even managed Patrick Mahomes twice, but it wasn’t enough to defeat the reigning Super Bowl champions. The Chiefs still looked the same: controlled and dangerous when it mattered.

The Chiefs’ Chris Jones and the Bengals’ Trey Hendrikson were game-wreckers for their respective teams, with the former generating seven quarterback pressures and the latter six. Hendrickson, however, was more efficient with his workload, posting a 33.3% pass-rush win rate and two sacks. Hendrickson also made a run stop and is on pace to finish with an impressive PFF overall grade.
