CFB Week 1: Don’t Overreact | Florida vs Miami | Nico & Tennessee | USC vs LSU | Clemson vs Georgia

The 2024 American football season kicked off this past weekend with a handful of games, including Georgia technology disturbing State of Florida. Now the action really gets underway with everyone getting into gear this week, starting on Thursday night. ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit was a guest on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday to preview the loaded Week 1 slate.

Herbstreit is looking forward to a number of matches in the coming days.

“I think this is going to be an exciting week, I mean, you have real games,” Kirk Herbstreit said.

There are 20 games featuring FBS teams on Thursday, with North Carolina bee Minnesota as the main act. Another interesting game is North Dakota State bee Colorado as Deion Sanders and company play in year 2 in Boulder.

The matches continue on Friday, with TCU in return for Stanford the most intriguing matchup. Then the Saturday slate is filled with multiple games pitting ranked teams against each other.

This week there are even games on Sunday and Monday, as the American football season kicks off with great enthusiasm.

“It starts Thursday night. I think the big ones are North Carolina and Minnesota. Friday night you have some great games,” Kirk Herbstreit said. “And then you just see what happens over the weekend. Huge games with Georgia And Clemson.”

Georgia is the big favorite over the Tigers, but Herbstreit expects it to be an exciting game.

“I know Georgia, look at them. They’re favored by almost two touchdowns,” Herbstreit said. “You know, I told you, I think Clemson is going to win the ACC. I think they’re headed to the playoffs. I think they’re a lot better and I think they have a lot of pride in their team. I think that game is a lot more exciting.”

Besides Clemson vs. Georgia, Herbstreit is also intrigued by a number of other opening weekend games.

“Miami And Floridaholy cow. Billy Napier “You’re talking about a lot at stake in that case,” Kirk Herbstreit said.Notre Dame and (Texas) A&M, we’re going there for that one, can’t wait. Then we’re flying to Las Vegas to do the LSU–USC game. Wow man. That’s huge.”

Napier is in trouble in Gainesville as the 2024 season begins, while expectations are high in Miami as Cristobal has done a solid job of recruiting players both through the draft and in high school.

Other interesting games in week 1 of the college football season include: Penn State bee West Virginiaas well as Boston College bee State of Florida on Monday evening.
