Two titans of the quick service industry have officially tied the knot, so they’re celebrating with freebies for the rest of us.

Krispy Kreme has announced the arrival of its donuts in McDonald’s restaurants in the Chicago area. From October 15, McDonald’s customers can enjoy three flavors of donuts from the chain, before the offering is rolled out nationwide at the end of 2026.

While the rest of us wait for that expansion, Krispy Kreme is giving a free Original Glazed donut to any visitor who shows a McDonald’s receipt (paper or digital) from those dates at participating stores in the US between October 10 and 14. deal is limited to one per guest.

In March, Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s announced a partnership in which the former will supply donuts to the latter’s restaurants. Krispy Kreme says it plans to serve fresh donuts daily in more than 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants by the end of this year, reaching a total of 12,000 by the end of 2026.

“The number one request we receive from consumers is for more access to our delicious, fresh donuts,” Josh Charlesworth, president and CEO of Krispy Kreme, said in a press release. “Having Krispy Kreme donuts under the Golden Arches is worth its weight in gold to our fans and we are excited to celebrate by giving our guests who also visit a McDonald’s a free Original Glazed donut.”

McDonald’s will stock three of Krispy Kreme’s most popular donuts, which will be sold individually or in boxes of six starting at breakfast time, while supplies last:

• Original glazed donut
• Chocolate ice cream with sprinkles donut
• Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Donut
