Krispy Kreme donuts are coming to select McDonald’s, but sweet lovers everywhere can join in the celebration.

In March, the two brands announced that three types of Krispy Kreme donuts – original glazed, chocolate ice cream with sprinkles and filled with chocolate ice cream – would be available for purchase in McDonald’s restaurants.

Eight months later, the merger is finally completed.

McDonald’s restaurants in the Chicago area will begin selling Krispy Kreme donuts starting Tuesday, October 15, the first part of a phased rollout to McDonald’s locations nationwide by the end of 2026.

“This offering is a fun way to satisfy donut lovers in Chicago, as well as fans from across the country who are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to enjoy this treat at their local McDonald’s,” Krispy Kreme said in a press release.

To celebrate the rollout, participating Krispy Kreme stores nationwide are giving a free Original Glazed donut to anyone who shows a paper or digital McDonald’s receipt, dated now through October 14.

“The number one request we receive from consumers is for more access to our delicious, fresh donuts. Having Krispy Kreme donuts under the Golden Arches is worth its weight in gold to our fans and we are excited to celebrate by giving our guests who also visit a McDonald’s a free Original Glazed donut,” said Josh Charlesworth, President and CEO of Krispy Kreme, in the same press release. .
