Kristin Chenoweth admits she never thought Bad A movie was going to be made

At the film’s New York premiere on November 14, the Bad film cast and Broadway stars were in attendance.

On November 14 Bad held a New York premiere of the new film adaptation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Hosted by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, attendees included the film’s stars, composer Stephen Schwartz and Broadway faces such as Kristin Chenoweth, Lea Michelle, Micaela Diamond, Alex Newell and more. Watch Playbill’s Jeffrey Vizcaíno interview the stars in the video above.

On the red carpet, Bad original cast member Chenoweth (who played Glinda on stage), was teary-eyed and said, “I was hoping I would be alive to see it. I didn’t know I would be! I didn’t know if they would see that .” make the movie.” She chuckled and added, “The fact that they did that and I’m here to see it and I can enjoy the legacy of it and that it’s in my DNA. And now it’s in their hands and now they can take it and run.’

The film’s director, Jon M. Chu, said he actually had the film’s stars, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, come to his house after they were cast. Composer Stephen Schwartz was also there. “They came to my house, in the living room, and sang ‘For Good,’ with Stephen Schwartz on the piano. It was the most magical thing I had ever seen… That’s when we knew we had a movie.”
