It’s not even Thanksgiving, but God knows we need reasons to look forward to 2025. At least Coachella is always here. The flagship festival’s lineup dropped on November 20, with Lady Gaga, Green Day and Post Malone among the top performers in years. Several headliners are already promising ‘chaos’ – not to mention Travis Scott, who is there to ‘design the desert’. What you need to know about the line-up.

Like a chronic illness. Gaga headlined for the first time in 2017, filling in for the then-upcoming Beyoncé. With about a month and a half’s notice, she performed a set full of choreos for big screens and debuted her post-Joannes single ‘The Cure’. Now, she will be the first returning headliner since The Weeknd teamed up with Swedish House Mafia to replace Ye in 2022. This will probably be the live debut of LG7and Gaga promises “a huge night of chaos in the desert” now that she has more time to prepare. “I had a vision that I was never able to fully realize at Coachella for reasons beyond our control, but I wanted to come through for music fans,” Gaga wrote on also.”

Beats us. The longtime Cali rockers will take over their backyard festival for the first time on Saturday. Green Day is coming off a massive tour behind their new album Saviors and the double anniversaries of the outbreak Dookie and fan favorite American idiot. So expect a set full of old hits – and of course with fans on guitar. “Come and cause chaos in the desert with us, it will be one for the books!” the band posted on Instagram. We’re sensing a theme here.

Evidently. Posty returns to the desert just a year after ending his cowboy days at Stagecoach. He’s already planning a major country tour right afterward, but don’t be surprised if he throws some of his pop and hip-hop hits on these sets for a wider audience.

Who can say for sure, but he’s probably going to play some music. Scott is in the new fourth headliner spot, which only meant Calvin Harris in 2023 and No Doubt in 2024 took the spotlight on Saturday night. Scott was originally set to headline the fest in 2020 before the pandemic scuppered those plans. TMZ previously reported that Scott was set to headline Coachella’s return to the desert in 2022, before the tragedy at his own Astroworld Festival in 2021 made him a security and PR liability. You promised to bring out Scott during his headlining set, but we all know how that went. Now, Trav is finally getting his Coachella moment — and he’s teasing a “new chapter” with it on Instagram. (Don’t be surprised if he sticks around Posty’s set for a guest role, too.)

Not anywhere on the poster, that’s for sure. Hits Daily Double, usually a reliable Coachella source, reported in October that rising dance musician Fred would once again… be the 2025 headliner. Fred had stepped in to close the 2023 festival with Skrillex and Four Tet, and he was headlining Bonnaroo 2024, but a solo headliner still seemed like a big leap for him. Turns out it was: Fred isn’t one of the headliners and doesn’t even plan to perform.

None other than The Misfits, Glenn Danzig’s long-running horror punk group. And it is the original Misfits, the lineup of Danzig, bassist Jerry Only and guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein who first reunited in 2016.

Expect one of the most talked-about shows of the weekend from Missy Elliott, who comes to the desert for the first time after her first-ever headlining tour. After Blackpink’s 2023 headliner, Lisa and Jennie will both head into the desert solo on Friday and Sunday respectively. Charli Everyone on the Mustard set will be keeping their fingers crossed for a surprise performance from Kendrick Lamar. Parents will be entertained with sets from ’80s pop-rock icons the Go-Go’s, Portishead singer Beth Gibbons, hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia and German electronic pioneers Kraftwerk. And it looks like conductor Gustavo Dudamel is taking the Los Angeles Philharmonic to the desert, because why not?

It certainly is. Don’t ask questions.

Presale registration is now open and presales begin on November 22 at 11am PT. (But if you visited in 2023 or ’24, you’ll get early access today at 11 a.m. PT.) Coachella is encouraging fans to “watch weekend 2” for a better chance at getting tickets.
