LeBron James dreamed he played for Coach K at Duke before Snoop, Dr. Dre Concert | News, scores, highlights, stats and rumors

B/R

Duke fans have certainly dreamed of LeBron James playing for the Blue Devils in the past.

Well, now the king has dreamed of it too.

James took to social media Sunday morning and said he dreamed he was playing for legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski at Cameron Indoor Stadium. He said it was “an honor to perform” for the former Duke coach, although the dream took a turn when a concert with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre broke out:

Le Bron James @KingJames

It immediately became a concert. Snoop & Dre were the featured artists and they performed the song “The Next Episode”. The roof in Cameron damn near came off! Haha. Then my ⏰ went off and I woke up. 😱😁

The Los Angeles Lakers star never played collegiately and went straight to the NBA from high school as the No. 1 overall pick of the 2003 draft.

There were no rules at the time preventing high school players from jumping straight to the NBA, although he has discussed in the past where he would have played if the current restrictions existed when he made his decision.

James has said he would have played at his home state school at Ohio State in the past, although he has also hinted at going to Duke or North Carolina.

Krzyzewski would have made quite an impression on the recruiting trail, and Ohio State, North Carolina and others would have been disappointed by the end result of the process. The Blue Devils also reached the Final Four during the 2003-04 season, when James might have been a good fit for them, and it’s not hard to imagine him leading them another step toward a national title.

The future Hall of Famer at least got the chance to play for Krzyzewski later in his career.

Coach K led the United States Men’s National Team to three consecutive gold medals at the Olympic Games in 2008, 2012 and 2016. James was a member of the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London teams, neither of which lost in the Olympic competition.

Basketball fans had the opportunity to see the legendary player perform for the legendary coach in international football, but James taking the court at Cameron Indoor Stadium remains a dream.
