    It will be nearly impossible for Week 7 to match the chaos of Week 6, but the slate is packed with exciting matchups.

    An early surprise was that No. 7 Alabama faced another nail-biter at home against South Carolina. The Crimson Tide needed late-game defensive heroics to survive against the Gamecocks in a 27-25 thriller. Later, No. 4 Penn State needed a comeback of its own before pulling out a 33-30 victory in overtime at the Coliseum.

    Meanwhile, the No. 1 team in the country left no doubt as to how the Red River Rivalry matchup with Oklahoma would go. The Longhorns allowed an early field goal before scoring 34 straight points in a loss at the Cotton Bowl.

    Here are the matchups we’ll be keeping an eye on late Saturday. Follow all the action live below.

    The big game of the weekend should be a doozy. Opposing defenses haven’t solved OSU’s two-headed offense and a passing game featuring all-world freshman Jeremiah Smith. If the game comes down to quarterback play, Oregon could have the edge. Will Howard has been solid for the Buckeyes, but Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel leads the nation in completion percentage and has thrown for 1,449 yards.

    This game has everything you need for a shootout. The Rebels are averaging 44 points per game while LSU is scoring over 35 per game. QB Jaxson Dart has already thrown for 2,100 yards and LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier has thrown for 1,652 yards and 15 TDs in five games. The Tigers left in Week 6, while the Rebels bounced back from their first loss with a resounding victory over South Carolina.

    Kansas State is a good benchmark for what appears to be an improved Buffaloes squad. The team has already matched its 2023 win total and is just two wins away from making the bowl. The biggest test for Colorado will be up front on defense. Teams are averaging over 150 rushing yards per game against the Buffaloes and KSU RB DJ Giddens and QB Avery Johnson are each averaging 7.3 yards per carry.

      LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier tried to get rid of the ball, but he threw it into a helmet at the line of scrimmage and Ole Miss came down with the pick.

      The Rebels are in the red zone after the turnover.

      Rebels kicker Caden Davis got a routine 32-yard field goal, but he missed it. So we’re still winless in Death Valley.

      Jordan James comes through for a three-yard TD run as the Ducks capitalize on the turnover.

      However, the PAT failed, so Ohio State still leads 7-6.

      Oregon’s Derrick Harmon stole the ball away from OSU RB Quinshon Judkins.

      Ducks take over deep in Buckeye territory.

    • Meanwhile, we are also on the road in Death Valley with LSU and Ole Miss. The two teams traded three-and-outs on their first possessions in what is expected to be a high-scoring affair.
