Live Football Scores, Matches, Updates: Clemson at Florida State, Tennessee-Arkansas and more

With only one match between the top 25 teams on the schedule, this week looked like it could be a dud. But college football always produces results when it’s least expected, and that was the case in a big way on Saturday.

A week after holding off Georgia in a clash of SEC titans, No. 1 Alabama lost to Vanderbilt, 40-35, in a stunner in Nashville. The Commodores were 23.5-point underdogs but never trailed in the upset win. Vandy QB Diego Pavia was the hero, completing 16 of his 20 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 57 yards.

Elsewhere, No. 5 Georgia rebounded from its loss to Alabama to handle Auburn and No. 2 Ohio State looked convincing in a loss at Iowa as freshman Jeremiah Smith made another one-handed TD grab. No. No. 25 Texas A&M suppressed No. 9 Missouri 41-10 early in the day in the only ranked-by-ranked matchup.

These are the matches we will be watching closely on Saturday evening. All times are Eastern and all odds are from BetMGM.

7:30 PM | Television: ABC | Line: Tennessee -13.5 | Total 58.5

Tennessee’s offense has produced the highlights so far, but the defense has given up just 28 points in four games and the defensive line has shown itself to be one of the best in the SEC. It will be a big challenge for the Arkansas offense, which can be explosive when the ball isn’t turned over.

10:30 PM | TV: ESPN | Line: Miami-10.5 | Total: 54.5

Miami is learning what life is like in the new ACC as it heads west to visit the Bears for a late kickoff in Berkeley, which also hosts “GameDay.” Can Miami and Heisman hopeful QB Cam Ward continue against a feisty Cal team that is off to a 3-1 start?
