Live updates from Auburn Football’s home game with Vanderbilt

After earning its first Power 4 win of the season against Kentucky last week, Auburn returns home to face a familiar foe.

Vanderbilt travels to Jordan-Hare Stadium for Saturday’s game and it marks the return of quarterback Diego Pavia, who helped New Mexico State to a victory over Auburn last season.

The game starts at 11:45 a.m. and will be streamed on SEC Network.

Second quarter

1:19 p.m. – Auburn goes for it on fourth-and-3 from the 31-yard line, but Thorne’s pass is incomplete. Vanderbilt takes over on downs.

First quarter

0:00 – The first quarter ends with Vanderbilt leading Auburn 7-0. Pavia connected on passes of 31, 16 and 28 yards on the touchdown drive.

0:50 – Pavia connects with AJ Newberry on a beautiful 28-yard throw into the end zone. Vanderbilt gets on the board first with a touchdown. The ensuing kickoff goes out of bounds and Auburn takes over at the 35-yard line.

7-0, Vanderbilt vs. Auburn

3:51 – Auburn makes some nice plays down the field, but the drive stalls around midfield, forcing another punt. Vanderbilt will take over at the 19-yard line.

6:54 – Auburn gets a stop on a nice third pressure from Austin Keys. A good punt pins Auburn on its own one-yard line to start its next drive.

10:08 – The defensive battle continues as Auburn goes three-and-out. Payton Thorne appeared to have Luke Deal open at second but overthrew him. Vanderbilt takes over at its own 33-yard line.

11:23 – Vanderbilt goes three-and-out on its first drive and Auburn takes over at its own 30-yard line.

1:00 PM – Auburn can’t accomplish much on its first drive and has to punt. Vanderbilt takes over at its own 16-yard line.

Auburn wins the coin toss and elects to receive.

11:43 am – Auburn takes the field

Hugh Freeze leads Auburn onto the field as the game gets underway soon.

10:45 am – Warm-ups begin

As Auburn takes the field for warmups, defensive back Keionte Scott appears to be warming up after being listed as a game-time decision on the pregame availability report.

Alex McPherson, Jamonta Waller, Tyler Scott, Champ Anthony, Brandon Frazier and Caleb Burton III are all out for the game.
