The Jim Harbaugh era has gotten off to a positive start for the Los Angeles Chargers. Los Angeles will be hoping to remain undefeated as they travel to face the struggling Carolina Panthers. The Chargers are favored over the Panthers.

The emergence of JK Dobbins as a playmaking back is a positive development for the previously pass-heavy Chargers. Dobbins rushed for 135 yards and a TD against Las Vegas after playing in just eight games over the previous three seasons in Baltimore due to injury. Dobbins’ big-play ability eases the burden on quarterback Justin Herbert. It also allows the Chargers’ new receiving corps to enter the season calmly.

Points can come in droves for Los Angeles against a miserable Carolina defense. New Orleans scored 30 points in the first half, scoring in its first nine possessions against the Panthers defense during the Week 1 blowout.

Carolina’s offense must limit turnovers and protect Bryce Young to stay in games. The second-year quarterback threw two interceptions and the new offensive line allowed four sacks to Young in the opener. Efficiency for Young will be paramount if the Panthers are to extend drives and score points.

Limited to just 58 rushing yards and 2.9 yards per carry against the Saints, Carolina will also have to ask more of its offensive line and the running back duo of Miles Sanders and Chuba Hubbard. It could be another long day for Young if the Chargers can generate pressure. Los Angeles had four sacks in Week 1, with pass-rush specialists Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack each collecting one.
