Lots of sun is forecast this weekend! Get out there and enjoy the fall activities!!

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – We’re in for a beautiful weekend in the weather department as we continue to see wall-to-wall sunshine and above-average temperatures.

A strong high pressure system is once again taking control of much of the weather in the eastern United States as we can see on satellite and radar that there are no clouds from the East Coast to the west side of the Mississippi River! This means that we will see plenty of sun and dry weather all weekend and well into the coming work week.

If you have morning plans you may need a light jacket or sweater as temperatures are a bit chilly between 30 and 40 degrees with clear skies. Clear and sunny skies will continue today, with temperatures warming from the upper 60s to low 70s for Saturday. Overall a fantastic day to cross a few autumn activities off the fall bucket list, such as apple picking or seeing autumn leaves.

Temperatures will drop back into the mid 40s tonight, so if you have evening plans or are planning to go to the homecoming game tonight, you might want to bring the jacket as it could be chilly again tonight.

The forecast for Sunday calls for more sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures. We will start the day off similar to today with cool conditions and gradually warm up to the mid 70s with lots of sunshine! Typically this time of year we see temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s, not this year, we will stay in the 70s until at least Tuesday of next week.

A cold front will end the late summer heat and the slight chance of sprinkles here and there by Wednesday morning, nothing too severe but enough to require the windshield wipers on the morning commute. After the cold front passes, temperatures will return to closer to normal in the upper 50s to low 60s, with some clouds.
