LS Dunes Shares New Single “Machines”: Listen

Emo/post-hardcore supergroup LS Dunes has released their debut album Past lives in 2022, and they’ve been on a steady diet of one-off singles ever since. The last of those songs was ‘Fatal Deluxe’, which was released just last month. Now, ahead of their performance at this weekend’s When We Were Young festival, LS Dunes have shared and announced another song Violettheir upcoming second LP.

Violet will be released early next year and won’t feature many of the singles that LS Dunes released as singles. Once again the band recorded with producer Will Yip. The new LS Dunes song “Machines” is a soaring, melodic song with a few hard shouts thrown in for good luck. This is what frontman Anthony Green, also of Circa Survive and Saosin, says about the LP:

I got so sick of playing the song where I sing, “Sorry I Wish I Was Dead,” and I’m so sorry I even wrote that song. I’m grateful that people resonate with it, but it didn’t help me to sing or talk about that every night. So this time I personally decided that I really wanted to make a record that says there is magic in the world. I wanted to celebrate music and the transformative power it has to connect and inspire people. I wanted to make something that was completely contradictory to that song – something that says: I want to live.

Band member Frank Iero, also of My Chemical Romance, co-directed the video with David Brodsky. The clip makes fun of the word “supergroup” and shows the band playing on a cheesy ’70s talk show and winning over a skeptical audience. Watch the video and tracklist of the new album below.
