LSU Football hosts star-studded prospects for Alabama Weekend

Brian Kelly and the LSU football staff have done wonders on the recruiting trail after putting together a Top 5 Recruiting Class in America headlined by Bryce Underwood.

Underwood, the No. 1 quarterback in America, will be back in town this weekend for the Bayou Bengals’ Top 15 showdown against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

A weekend that will have a star-studded group of prospects on the sidelines, LSU once again prepares to roll out the red carpet for their goals and commitments.

A look at the attendance list for Saturday night at Tiger Stadium:

LSU commit Bryce Underwood will head to Baton Rouge on Saturday for an official visit, bringing in extended family for the Alabama game. He will stay through Monday, a source told LSU Tigers On SI.

America’s No. 1 player will make a return trip to Louisiana, where he will take in the scenes of Death Valley, discuss business with the coaching staff and more.

It is important to note that Underwood has not visited any other programs since verbally committing to LSU in January. He has visited Baton Rouge several times but has made no official or unofficial trip elsewhere.

Despite Michigan continuing to press the buzzer for Underwood, he is locked into a return trip to the Bayou State for a multi-day stay on the LSU campus.

Underwood will be joined by both his parents and other family members on the trip, with the Tigers preparing to roll out the red carpet on the multi-day trip.

The “generational talent” has been brought in from the beginning of his recruitment with the LSU Tigers, with offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan serving as point guard in the role.

With it almost time for prospects to put pen to paper during the Early Signing Period in December, the buzz about Michigan Wolverine has become a hot topic.

The Michigan Buzz:

Underwood, a Michigan native, has been heavily recruited by the Wolverines during his recruiting process over the past three years.

The Michigan native was always going to be a threat, but Underwood has yet to visit Ann Arbor for an official or unofficial visit.

Underwood’s actions have made it clear that the five-star signal caller is committed to the Tigers, but it hasn’t stopped Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore from reaching out to the quarterback to keep communication flowing.

On3 Sports Recruiting Expert Steve Wiltfong says:

“As head coach Sherrone Moore and Michigan take their big step into the Early Signing Period, they currently sit in On3’s No. 12 recruiting class. One prospect they have continued to engage with is On3’s No. 1 prospect in Bryce Underwood. Committed to LSU, that’s a recruitment to monitor progress. I believe the dialogue with the Wolverines is real. We’ll see how things continue to develop there a few more before pens hit paper.”

Moore and Co. remain in contact with Underwood and his camp down the road, but LSU is aware of the communications. It didn’t surprise the program, despite the national headlines stealing the spotlight.

The Wolverines have reportedly put together a NIL package north of $5 million, but again, LSU is aware of the NIL efforts that would be required to land the No. 1 prospect in America.

Underwood is being labeled as a “program-changing” prospect, with the LSU Tigers keeping their foot on the gas for his services.

Five-star New Orleans (La.) defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart Edna Karr officially made the move to reclassify from the 2026 Recruiting Class to 2025 after going public with a decision in October.

Stewart, the No. 1 prospect in the 2026 cycle, will maintain five-star status in the 2025 class after entering the Top 20 overall recruit.

The Louisiana native registers as the No. 2 candidate in the state behind LSU prospect Harlem Berry, the No. 1 candidate in America.

Now with the news official, programs have begun to ramp up their recruiting efforts for the nation’s No. 3 defensive lineman, with official visits locked in.

Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers will take another look at the “generational talent” when he makes his official trip to Baton Rouge this weekend for a game against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

It’s now Stewart’s home game.

He has officially visited the Oregon Ducks and the return trip has already been set, but he will also visit LSU, USC and Ohio State for officials in November.

– DJ Pickett: #1 cornerback in America (LSU Commit)
