Madden Simulation: Banner Night at Arrowhead Stadium

Welcome back to Arrowhead Pride Madden Simulations. If you’re new to the series, we’re simulating the Kansas City Chiefs season roster using EA Sports Madden 25. We set up the rosters to mimic what happens on game day, so if a player is injured, they won’t be playing in the EA Universe. Enjoy!

This is what happened in our simulation:

First quarter

The Baltimore Ravens received the first kickoff under the new rules. The Ravens would score on their first drive after Lamar Jackson connected for a touchdown with tight end Mark Andrews from 27 yards out. New Ravens running back Derrick Henry ran the ball twice for 33 yards on the drive.

Mecole Hardman had four receptions for 64 yards on the Chiefs’ opening drive. It was a 10-play drive capped off by a seven-yard touchdown grab by Rashee Rice.

End of first quarter: Chiefs 7, Ravens 7

Second quarter

After not playing a snap on the Chiefs’ first drive, Xavier Worthy worked the offensive scheme on the second offensive drive. After helping to complete two short first downs, Andy Reid called Worthy’s number inside the Ravens’ 10-yard line. Worthy caught a five-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes.

The Ravens’ ensuing offensive drive wasn’t perfect, but it resulted in a touchdown. A couple of delay-of-game penalties and a holding penalty in the Chiefs’ red zone could have cost the Ravens dearly. A big first-down catch by Zay Jones was followed by a touchdown by Nelson Agholor.

There was a wild turn of events when Drue Tranquill intercepted Jackson with 38 seconds left in the half. On the next play, Mahomes was intercepted by Marcus Williams.

Justin Tucker missed a 61-yard field goal with 12 seconds left, which was enough for Mahomes to get Harrison Butker within range of a field goal, giving the Chiefs a three-point lead going into halftime.

End of second quarter: Chiefs 17, Ravens 14

Third quarter

Reid’s script for the second half was meticulously crafted. A 10-play drive that covered 79 yards and ate six minutes off the clock was an impressive way to start the third quarter. Justin Watson worked his way into the offense on the drive, catching three passes, including one for a touchdown.

“Chiefs Kingdom” was loud on this important night, when the Ravens were assessed their sixth delay-of-game penalty during the quarter.

Before the end of the quarter, Mahomes was able to send his fourth touchdown pass of the night to a fourth different receiver, this time it was Travis Kelce.

End of third quarter: Chiefs 31, Ravens 17

Fourth quarter

Trent McDuffie set off fireworks early in the fourth quarter, intercepting Jackson’s ball and driving it home to give the Ravens a three-touchdown lead.

The Ravens scored two touchdowns on long consecutive drives that took up three quarters of the game.

The Chiefs entered the game with 1:45 remaining and decided to call the game, as the Ravens only had one timeout left.

Jackson connected with Rashod Bateman on a 45-yard pass in the end zone to cut the lead to one point. The Ravens would go for two and convert on the two-point conversion. If it wasn’t for Mark Andrews in the fourth quarter, the Ravens wouldn’t have had a chance to get in this position.

Final Score: Ravens 39, Chiefs 38
