An Arizona man wanted after threatening to kill Donald Trump on social media was arrested Thursday, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was in Cochise County on Thursday as he visited the U.S. border with Mexico as part of his campaign.

The man, Ronald Syvrud, 66, had multiple outstanding warrants out of Wisconsin, the sheriff’s office said. He was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, authorities said Friday.

Syvrud was subsequently booked into the Cochise County Jail on a felony warrant out of Graham County, Arizona, for “failure to register as a sex offender and two counts of menacing in connection with this case,” the sheriff’s office added. He remained in custody pending further court action.

“I’m not that surprised (by the threat) and the reason is I want to do things that are very bad for the bad guys,” Trump said Thursday when asked about the threat in Arizona.

It was the latest in a series of threats against candidates in the run-up to the November 5 general election.

In early August, a Virginia man was charged with threatening Kamala Harris, Trump’s Democratic rival, and in December, a New Hampshire man was arrested for threatening to kill Republican presidential candidates.

In July, Trump was shot in the ear in an attempted assassination, wounding two others and killing one man.

The U.S. Secret Service came under massive surveillance after the shooting, resulting in the resignation of the agency’s director.

Despite this and new threats, Trump said Thursday he has “great respect” for the Secret Service and “the work that they do,” adding that they have made mistakes that they will learn from.
