Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued a directive to reduce crime in all districts of the province, stressing the need for a safer Punjab.

The orders were given at a high-level meeting where police performance reports were discussed, along with key performance indicators.

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz, was attended by Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Secretary General Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Home Minister Nurul Amin Mengal, IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, Additional IG and other senior officials.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz stressed the importance of ensuring safe traffic on all roads and instructed the authorities to take decisive measures to eliminate crime hotspots in the region.

She stressed the urgent need to curb robberies to protect traders and shopkeepers, saying such crimes are unacceptable in both small towns and big cities.

The Prime Minister stressed that in the event of any robberies or road crimes, the police officers concerned will be held accountable.
