A pregnancy testing company responded to Megan Fox’s announcement that a baby was on the way.

On Monday, the 38-year-old actor, who openly spoke about suffering a miscarriage in 2023, announced the news via Instagram with two telling photos. In the first image, Fox poses covered in black paint, apparently holding a baby bump in his arms. The second recording was from a First Response pregnancy test that was positive. Fox tagged longtime partner Machine Gun Kelly in the post, confirming he is the father of her baby.

First Response took to its Instagram page to share Fox’s post and congratulated the celebrity, simply writing: “Congratulations.”

It then reposted the photo of Fox cradling her baby bump and added a sticker that read: “Mom to be.”

Newsweek emailed a Fox spokesperson for comment on Tuesday.

When Fox shared her pregnancy announcement on Instagram, she seemed to reference the fact that she had previously suffered a miscarriage, writing in the caption, “Nothing is ever truly lost. Welcome back 👼🏼❤️.”

Before her miscarriage, Kelly had announced Fox’s previous pregnancy at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, when he dedicated his performance to their “unborn child.”

Fox later opened up about the miscarriage in her book of poetry called Pretty Boys Are Toxic: Poems: A Collection of Damn Fairy Taleswhich was published in 2023. The star wrote about an ultrasound of a 10-week girl.

“I want to hold your hand / Hear your laugh, but now / I have to say goodbye,” she wrote, before later adding, “I close my eyes and imagine holding you tight to my chest as she hugs you rip out my bowels.”

While promoting the book during an appearance at Good morning America in November 2023, Fox spoke about going through the experience with Kelly.

“I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life. I have three children, so it was very difficult for both of us and it sent us on a very wild journey, together and separately… trying to navigate, ‘What does this mean? ?’ mean?’ and ‘Why did this happen?'” she said.

That same month, the Jennifer’s body star opened up about the miscarriage during a conversation with Women’s clothing everydaywhich revealed that she had had an ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy that occurs outside the uterus. It is a life-threatening condition) years earlier.

“That experience was so much harder than I expected, and I really analyzed, ‘Why was that? Why was that so hard for me?’ Because when I was younger, I had an ectopic pregnancy, I’ve had other things that I’m not going to say because God forbid the world will be in turmoil,” she said.

“But I’ve been through other similar problems, just not with someone I was so in love with.”

In February 2024, Kelly released the song “Don’t Let Me Go”, with the lyrics: “How can I live with the fact that my hand wasn’t on her stomach when we lost the baby.”
