Michigan State Spartans football vs. Indiana Hoosiers

Chiles to Marsh establishes a Kim FG

Nick Marsh is a stud. That’s not new news, but he’s legit. A highlight third down grab for 33 yards moved the chains for the Spartans, and Aziah Johnson and Montorie Foster also got in on the action, setting up a 47-yard field goal by Jonathan Kim.

Three and out

Much has been made about Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke and his injured thumb. Hard to say how he’s doing on that first drive, but it’s a three and out. Insult first.

Defend the Spartans first

First place Hoosiers vs. Michigan State in East Lansing. Nice.

Michigan State opens the final third of the season at home against undefeated Indiana.

After a loss to rival Michigan last week, the Spartans (4-4, 2-3 Big Ten) must win two of their final four games to become bowl eligible, something the program hasn’t accomplished since 2021. of the remaining four games are in East Lansing.

The final stretch begins against an Indiana team in the midst of a historic season. The Hoosiers are ranked thirteenth in the country and are off to an 8-0 start, the first time they have done so since 1967. The Hoosiers have never won 10 games in a season and appear to have the talent to do so under first-year coach Curt Cignetti.

Michigan State will try to spoil Indiana’s perfect season and retain possession of the Old Brass Spittoon, the trophy awarded to the winner of this match.
