Mike Tyson almost knocks out coach in front of a large crowd before Jake Paul opens training

Mike Tyson demonstrated his strength and speed during a special open training session in Texas on Tuesday evening and his coach had to stay sharp with every punch.

The controversial fight between Tyson and Jake Paul is now just two days away and anticipation is building for the boxing icon’s return to the ring.

Concerns have been raised about Tyson’s health heading into the fight, as he recently turned 58.

But the former undisputed world heavyweight champion has repeatedly dismissed those concerns and showed he means business during a short open training session on Tuesday evening.

The entire fight card was in action, but hundreds were in attendance at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas to catch a glimpse of Tyson.

Tyson’s coach, Rafael Cordeiro, wore the pads as the pair danced around the ring as Tyson performed a number of combos.

Cordeiro instructed Tyson on which punch combo to use, with the 58-year-old performing with devastating power and speed.

Tyson’s trademark footwork and head movements were on display as he got close to Cordeiro several times.

Cordeiro even looked surprised at times as he tilted his head to the side to avoid being hit.

The pair managed to share a smile in the ring at one point before Tyson ended the short session.

Tyron Woodley, who lost twice to Jake Paul in 2021, remained impressed with what he saw from Tyson in the ring.

“You can see a 20-second clip or a four-minute clip and anyone can look like a savage,” Woodley said.

“We see a full workout and he’s not even really breathing hard.

“We’re all sweating hard because you just realize you’re in a moment.”

Tyson spoke briefly in the ring after the training session, expressing his initial doubts after agreeing to fight Paul earlier this year.
