Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight: How to watch former champion take on YouTube star

Once known as ‘The Worst Man in the World’, former heavyweight champion ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 knockouts) returns to the boxing ring on Friday to take on YouTube star and professional fighter Jake Paul (10-1 , seven knockouts).

The two have been exchanging verbal jabs for months ahead of the postponed fight, but things escalated on Thursday when video showed 58-year-old Tyson punching 27-year-old Paul in the face during the weigh-in for the prime-time fight.

The fight between Tyson and Paul was originally scheduled for July, but was postponed for several months after Tyson suffered a stomach ulcer.

Unlike most big fights, the Tyson-Paul fight won’t only be available on pay-per-view. You can stream the Tyson vs. Paul fight on Netflix from 8 p.m

“Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is a once-in-a-lifetime dream match and we hope it will be the most watched boxing event in modern boxing history,” said Nakisa Bidarian, founder of Most Valuable Promotions, which partners with Netflix . to enter the fray, according to a press release.

Tyson said he plans to finish the “child” despite the 31-year age difference.

“I’m really looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas,” Tyson said in a press release. “He has grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and suitability of a GOAT. It’s a full-circle moment that will be extremely exciting to watch; as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.

Paul said Tyson will be his biggest challenge yet.

“It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard. Now, less than four years later, I’m going to fight Tyson himself to see if I can make it in me to beat one of the most infamous fighters and biggest icons in boxing,” Paul said in a statement.

Tyson was heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990 and started his career by winning his first 37 bouts. He won his first 19 professional fights by knockout. Tyson’s first defeat was a huge setback against Buster Douglas in 1990.

Paul, who started fighting professionally in 2020, has previously defeated UFC star Nate Diaz and MMA fighter and Olympic wrestler Ben Askren. He started his boxing career 6-0 before losing to Tommy Furry in 2023.
