Jake Paul learned a hard lesson Thursday night: don’t step on Mike Tyson’s foot.

The fighters met Thursday for their final weigh-in before facing off in a highly anticipated matchup Friday night at AT&T Stadium.

But when the first happened, things took a drastic turn heavyweight boxing champion hit the YouTuber-turned-boxer on stage.

There was speculation on social media about what might have prompted the legend to break up.

Tyson cleared the air and told the New York Post it was because Paul stepped on his foot, perhaps on purpose.

“I was wearing my socks and he was wearing shoes,” Tyson said after the weigh-in. “He stepped on my toe because he’s a fucking asshole. I wanted to think it happened by accident. But now I think it might have been done on purpose.”

“I was in a lot of pain. I had to answer something,” he added.

The 58-year-old Tyson steps back into the ring for the first time in almost twenty years. He will face Paul, who only turned to professional boxing four years ago and has lost just once in eleven fights.

The event will stream exclusively on Netflix starting at 8:00 PM ET. According to reports, the main event is not expected to start until around 11:30 PM
