Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, has condemned the brutal murder of the Gatawa District Chief in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of ​​Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Bawa.

In a statement on Friday by his Director of Information and Public Relations, Henshaw Ogubike, the minister described the killing as “heinous and unacceptable,” adding that it was “a senseless and brutal act that will not be tolerated.”

According to him, “we will do everything in our power to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.”

Matawalle has instructed the Chief of Defence Staff to immediately launch a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

“Security is one of the top priorities of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and he has fully supported the military,” he said.

He assured the public that the Nigerian Armed Forces will do everything within its power to track down the perpetrators of this heinous crime and bring them to justice.

The statement further assured residents that they will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians.

He expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the late District Head, the people of Gatawa and the entire government of Sokoto State.
