Multiple fire crews are working to extinguish a fire in Washoe Valley, on US 395.

The fire started at the Davis Creek Campground and spread across US 395 to Washoe City.

No evacuation orders have been issued yet, but Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue advises that if you are in the area and feel unsafe, you should leave if necessary.

I-580 is closed by NDOT northbound at Bellevue in Washoe Valley and southbound at Mt. Rose Highway due to the fire.

Officials are advising travelers to avoid driving on the freeway between Reno and Carson City for the time being.
