NBA awesome Magic Johnson isn’t making new fans on social media.

After drawing widespread criticism during the Democratic National Convention for calling former President Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama’s speeches “the best political speeches in the history of our country,” the five-time NBA champion and Basketball Hall of Fame inductee has found himself in hot water again.

“Vice President Kamala Harris was amazing in her CNN interview tonight! She has a real vision for the country,” he wrote in a post on X.

In contrast to his praise, Harris has been criticized for her vague answer about her “day one” agenda in the pre-recorded interview she gave with running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Fans on social media were among those who seemingly agreed.

“What’s the vision? Be specific,” someone replied to Johnson.

“You’re kidding,” wrote another.

“She has failed for 3.5 years… What makes you believe that this vision, which is the same failed policies of this government she is a part of, would take this country to a better place?” another post read.

“What is this? Watched it twice and she gave NO view…”

But Johnson appeared to disagree in a second message that Harris was vague in the interview.

“VP Harris was strong and clear about her positions on the economy, foreign policy, immigration and other issues. She explained clearly why she changed her positions on a number of issues, which shows her humility, growth and willingness to be open,” he wrote.

The response to his second post was similar.

“Say you didn’t watch the interview without saying you didn’t watch the interview…,” read one comment.
