The Oklahoma City Thunder’s consuming 102-87 victory over the Denver Nuggets to open their season showed what many people were thinking: the youngest first seed in league history will remain as a title contender.

Despite Isaiah Hartenstein’s absence, the Thunder made easy work of the Nuggets. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 28 points. Chet Holmgren stole the spotlight with 25 points and 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets couldn’t escape OKC’s suffocating defense. They shot 36% from the field. Nikola Jokic was limited to a quiet triple-double of 16 points.
