NDOT to reduce the number of lanes on I-580 for anti-icing maintenance

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Nevada Department of Transportation says they will reduce lanes on I-580 south of Reno for annual maintenance of anti-icing systems.

Lanes will be closed in alternate directions of I-580 Tuesday through Thursday. The highway is reduced to one lane.

Portions of I-580 will be closed between Mt. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Rose Highway and the old US 395A exit 16 reduced to one lane. Closures will occur in one direction of the highway at a time.

Drivers should expect moderate travel delays.

Crews will activate the automatic anti-icing systems on four I-580 bridges between Mt. Cleaning and refreshing Rose Highway and the Bowers Mansion area.

The systems are designed to slow ice formation on bridge surfaces.
