Netflix freezes during Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul? You’re not alone.

If you try to watch the highly anticipated and publicized fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul and see more frozen screens than punches thrown, you’re not alone.

As the undercard plays out, the streaming giant appears to be struggling to handle the massive influx of traffic, leading to lagging video, freezing, and audio cutting in and out.

Netflix has not acknowledged the issue on their social media accounts as of 9 PM ET, although they have been tweeting consistent updates about the event on their X account.

While live viewer counts aren’t publicly available, Netflix officials said this week that the ad-supported tier has reached 70 million monthly active users worldwide, nearly doubling from about six months earlier, as customers look for more affordable options.

The fight was expected to be a major milestone and test in Netflix’s strategic pivot toward more live programming, but many users have taken to social media to discuss their disappointment with the stream so far. Check out photos from the event and the buzz online so far below.
