    New presidential election polls released in PA, MI, WI: See results

    Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are tied in two battleground states, with Trump leading in three new polls released Thursday by Echelon Insights.

    The polls show the candidates tied in Michigan and Wisconsin, while Trump is ahead in Pennsylvania. The three states are part of the “blue wall,” a collection of industrial states in the Midwest that have traditionally been part of Democratic victories but played a key role in Trump’s 2016 victory.

    The three states account for 44 electoral votes in the 2024 elections.

    Each poll sampled 600 likely voters in the state from October 27 to 30, sampling 80% of respondents via text-to-web and 20% of respondents via landline phone call.

    The race remains close, with five days left for the campaigns to get voters to make a decision. Both Harris and Trump will speak in Nevada, one of seven states that could influence the election.

    Here’s what you need to know about the latest Echelon Insights polls.

    Trump leads Harris in Pennsylvania

    Echelon found that Trump led Harris by 6% in the head-to-head matchup they surveyed, and by 5% when third parties were included.

    The poll showed that 92% of respondents were at least highly motivated to vote and that 32% of respondents had already voted.

    Fifty-eight percent of respondents said they disapproved of President Joe Biden’s term in office, while 49% disapproved of Trump’s term in office.

    The poll had a margin of error of ± 4.5%.

    Harris and Trump were tied in Michigan

    The pollster found that Harris and Trump are tied at 48% in Michigan and 47% when third parties are included.

    The survey found that 93% of respondents were at least highly motivated to vote and that 49% of respondents had already voted.

    A majority of respondents said they disapproved of both Biden and Trump’s terms, with 56% disapproving of Biden’s and 50% disapproving of Trump’s.

    The poll had a margin of error of ±4.4%.

    Harris and Trump were tied in Wisconsin

    The latest poll published by Echelon showed that Harris and Trump are also tied in Wisconsin at 49% of head-to-head votes and at 48% when third parties are included.

    The survey found that 95% of respondents were at least highly motivated to vote and that 44% of respondents had already voted.

    Respondents in Wisconsin disapproved of both Biden and Trump’s terms in office, with 54% and 51% of respondents expressing disapproval, respectively.

    The poll had a margin of error of ± 4.5%.

    Things to keep in mind when voting

    The margin of error describes how accurately we can count on the research results being representative of the entire population.

    When a candidate’s lead is “within” the margin of error, it is considered a “statistical tie,” according to the Pew Research Center.

    Pew also found that the majority of pollsters have changed their methods since the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections, significantly underestimating Trump’s performance.
