The New York Jets are missing a defender who had a bad day on defense against the San Francisco 49ers.

The team has announced that cornerback Michael Carter II is questionable to return due to an ankle injury:

Carter went down in the fourth quarter as New York trailed 26-13 in San Francisco in their season opener against the 49ers. Just a few plays later, the Niners kicked a field goal.

Carter was spotted entering the blue medical on the Jets sideline after grabbing his lower leg. Before leaving the game, Carter had two tackles.
