The New York Jets are on the road today in Glendale, Arizona to take on the Arizona Cardinals. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 PM EST.

After starting the season by losing three of their first four games, the Arizona Cardinals have bounced back, winning four of their last five and taking over first place in the NFC West division. The Cardinals have an excellent rushing attack that could prove problematic for a suspect Jet’s rushing defense. The Cardinals have rushed for more than 169 yards in five of their nine games this season. On the other hand, the Cardinals defense is pretty bad. They have given up more than 150 rushing yards in five of their last seven games. Additionally, the Cardinals have a poor pass rush and some of the worst cornerbacks in the NFL, leaving the team vulnerable on defense. The Cardinals rank 24th in the NFL in yards allowed and 28th in first downs allowed, giving the Jets offense some room to succeed in today’s game.

The Jets haven’t played well this season, with two games where they played a good half and one game where they played a good four quarters. These three games are responsible for the Jets’ three wins to date. In the six Jets losses, the Jets have ranged from mediocre to terrible.

There are some reasons for optimism. The Jets get their entire offensive line back today. Newly acquired receiver Davante Adams is starting to settle in. Garrett Wilson is playing the best football of his career. Breece Hall has looked much better lately after a terrible start to the season. Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich may be starting to figure things out as he becomes a head coach for the first time. Haason Reddick is starting to play well after holding out for much of the season. Quinnen Williams appears to be back in Pro Bowl form after a slow start to the season. In short, there are several signs that a Jets turnaround is imminent. But signs are one thing, victories are another. Let’s see if the Jets have what it takes to actually string together wins, starting today against a good Cardinals team.
