New York Magazine DC correspondent Olivia Nuzzi on leave over alleged affair with RFK Jr.

New York Magazine’s Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi was terminated after she allegedly had a romantic relationship with former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. while covering his campaign.

The couple began their alleged relationship after a profile of Nuzzi on RFK Jr. was published in November 2023, STATUS News reported, citing sources.

Nuzzi recently told the magazine’s editors that she “had a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while covering the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards regarding conflicts of interest and disclosure,” the magazine said in a statement.

According to the magazine, which did not name Kennedy, the reporter would not have been allowed to report on the presidential election if the magazine had known about the relationship.

“An internal investigation into her published work found no inaccuracies or evidence of bias. She is currently on leave from the journal and the journal is conducting a more thorough third-party investigation,” the statement said.

“We regret this breach of our readers’ trust.”

Kennedy’s camp denied that the two were in a relationship.

“Mr. Kennedy met Olivia Nuzzi only once in his life for an interview she requested, which resulted in a damning article,” a spokesperson said.

Kennedy was not used as a source because Nuzzi was covering the election, a source told STATUS News.

Another source familiar with the relationship reported that the couple likely started dating around New Year’s Eve, the source said.

The Post has contacted Kennedy’s team for comment.

Kennedy, 70, has been married to “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor Cheryl Hines, his third wife, since 2014.

In April 2023, he launched his presidential campaign on the Democratic ticket to challenge incumbent President Joe Biden.

After failing to gain national support, Kennedy suspended his bid for the White House last month, less than 24 hours after the Democratic National Convention ended.

He then endorsed former President Donald Trump.
