According to the New York Times, which first reported the charges, the indictment remains secret and the charges against the New York mayor have not yet been made public.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan has not yet commented on the reported indictment.

In a defiant video statement Wednesday night, before the indictment was announced, Adams said: “I now believe the federal government intends to charge me with federal crimes… If so, these charges will be completely false, based on lies.”

Adams also rejected calls to resign, saying the people of New York “elected me to lead this city and I will do that.”
