Newly elected US President Donald Trump chooses Indian-American loyalist Kash Patel to lead the FBI

Newly elected US President Donald Trump on Sunday (India time) appointed his loyalist Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel as head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.FBI). This made Patel second Indian American to be picked into his cabinet.
Following his report on Truth Social, Trump said Indian-American Kash will work under our great Attorney General, Pam Bondi, to bring back loyalty, courage and integrity to the FBI.
“I am proud to announce that Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel will serve as the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Kash is a brilliant lawyer, researcher and ‘America firstfighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending justice and protecting the American people. He played a crucial role in exposing the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, acting as an advocate for truth, accountability and the Constitution. Kash did a fantastic job during my first term, serving as Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director of Counterterrorism at the National Security Council,” he said in a post on Truth Social.

” Kash has also tried more than 60 jury trials. This FBI will end America’s growing crime epidemic, dismantle the criminal migrant gangs, and end the evil scourge of human and drug trafficking across the border. Kash will work under our great Attorney General, Pam Bondi, to bring loyalty, courage and integrity back to the FBI,” he added.

Who is Kash Patel?

Indian-American Kash Patel briefly served in the Justice Department during the Obama administration. After Trump took office, he spent two years as a senior adviser to former Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., when he led the House Intelligence Committee in 2017 and 2018. and assisted in the committee’s much-criticized investigation into the FBI’s Russia investigation.
In 2018, he served as Trump’s senior director of counterterrorism on the National Security Council and as a senior adviser to Trump’s directors of national intelligence, eventually being promoted to chief of staff and acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller during Trump’s final months in office.
Patel has spoken openly about retaliating against Trump’s political enemies in the government and media, writing in his book: “(T)he FBI is so thoroughly compromised that it will remain a threat to the people unless drastic action is taken taken.”
However, Patel has courted controversy throughout his career. In an earlier interview, he said, politicians and journalists seen as enemies of the then-president-elect “came after them.” This statement, aimed at those seen as opponents of Trump, has sparked debate about Patel’s approach to national security.
