The NFL is starting a new trend this holiday season by giving fans an extra game on Friday afternoon.

Every year, Thanksgiving festivities begin with food, thanksgiving and joy for the entire family. Then everyone says, “Forget that,” to watch three football games late into the evening, just in time for dessert.

The Detroit Lions survived a scare with the Chicago Bears at Ford Field for what had to be the worst clock management moment in NFL history. That final drive ultimately cost third-year coach Matt Eberflus his job in a 23-20 loss.

The Dallas Cowboys secured bragging rights over the New York Giants after a 110-yard performance from running back Rico Dowdle. The Giants remain in the hunt for the No. 1 overall pick, while Dallas improved to 5-7 and entered the chatter for a potential nine-win season.

Thanksgiving Day ended with the Green Bay Packers improving to 9-3 with a double-digit victory over the Miami Dolphins. Jordan Love threw two touchdown passes as the Phins were bogged down in the first half and couldn’t overcome a three-touchdown lead in the second half.

But “Black Friday” will feature another matchup with significant AFC Playoff implications on the line Kansas City Chiefs (10-1) hosts the Las Vegas Raiders (2-9) at 2:00 PM The Chiefs-Raiders game will be available to stream exclusively on Prime.

Kansas City, which hosts the Houston Texans in Week 16, could clinch a playoff spot with a win over Arrowhead this weekend with the help of a few others.
