NFL Week 7 predictions, picks, odds

We can talk about how much Sunday’s Week 7 clash between the Eagles and Giants means to the landscape of the NFC East, although we’d be lying if we didn’t admit that all eyes will certainly be on Saquon Barkley.

The former Giants NFC Offensive Rookie of the Year and two-time Pro Bowler is about to make his expected return to MetLife Stadium as a rival Eagle, and the books are expecting a show.

The lowest available line on his rushing yardage support is 78.5 at FanDuel, which is his highest line of the season.

Before we dive into the game context, let’s talk about the numbers: At 27 years old and fresh into a three-year deal with Philadelphia, Barkley is making strides toward a career year on the court.

With five games under his belt, he is collecting 96.4 yards per game – a rate that exceeds his previous plateau in 2022 at 14.4.

This Giants defense is facing a return of 5.2 yards per carry, the third highest in the league.

Part of the reason Barkley has gotten so much sunlight this season is a better offensive line.

Even without Jason Kelce, this Eagles unit is an improvement over where it fell behind with the Giants.

It has opened the door for Barkley, Jalen Hurts and Co. to trot for the sixth-most rushing yards per game.

But that O-line will have to contend with an elite Giants pass rush that has collected 26 sacks through five games.

Hurts was able to deliver the rock early and often, while also using Barkley to pass the checkdown, which to me points to the running back’s total yardage support.

Barkley isn’t used as much in the passing game as he is for the Giants – he sees 3.4 targets from Hurts.

Betting on the NHL?

But he has earned enough as he has dropped just three of the total seventeen balls, and he has secured a score.

Whatever the Giants’ game plan is for defending Barkley on the ground, I especially like that he gets upside as the Giants allow the sixth-most receptions and yards to opposing running backs.

As Aaron Jones and Brian Robinson Jr. would reach the triple-digit mark in Weeks 1 and 2 against the Giants, Barkley is in a promising position to give his former employer the last laugh.

The play: Saquon Barkley over 99.5 rushing + receiving yards (FanDuel -114)
