NHL waiver tracker: Top players on the wire through the 2024-2025 preseason

As NHL teams trim their rosters ahead of the regular season, The Athletics‘s Corey Pronman and Harman Dayal will provide analysis of the top players placed on waivers each day. Once a player has been ruled out, the rest of the league has 24 hours to make a claim for him. If a player is not claimed, he may be assigned to the minor leagues by his team.

Friday September 27

Ronnie Attard, RHD, Philadelphia Flyers

Attard has played in each of the past three NHL seasons but has yet to break through as a full-time player. He is a big right shot with good attacking skills and can play and compete both ways thanks to his frame. However, he is not a great skater and his decision making has gotten him into trouble over the years. —Pronman

Other players with exemptions: Louie Belpedio (Flyers), Rhett Gardner (Flyers), Hayden Hodgson (Senators), Cole Reinhardt (Senators), Jamieson Rees (Senators), Garrett Pilon (Senators), Nikolas Matinpalo (Senators), Maxence Guenette (Senators), Jeremy Davies (Senators), Luke Henman, (Kraken), Nikolas Brouillard (Kraken), Zach Sawchenko (Blue Jackets), Jake Leschyshyn (Rangers), Ben Harpur (Rangers), Alex Belzile (Rangers)
