No. 2 UConn takes on Oregon State at Baha Mar

NASSAU, Bahamas – The second-ranked UConn women’s basketball team (4-0) will face Oregon State (1-4) in the first game of the Baha Mar Women’s Championship at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

The game will be streamed on FloCollege and will be available on radio on the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97-9).

FloCollege is a subscription-based streaming platform.

Freshman Sara Strong had 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals to lead UConn past FDU, 85-41, last Wednesday. Redshirt senior Paige Bueckers scored 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

With the win, head coach Gen. Auriemma became the NCAA’s all-time winningest coach with 1,217 career victories.

Last Wednesday marked the return of the graduate student and preseason All-BIG EAST selection Azzi Fuddwho missed most of 2023/24 with injury.

UConn is 2-0 all-time vs. Oregon State. Both previous meetings also took place at neutral site locations. Monday’s game will mark exactly 29 years since the teams first met on November 25, 1995.

Oregon State lost at Illinois last Friday, 85-66. Four Beavers are averaging double-digit points this season, led by Catarina Ferreira (10.8). Head coach Scott Rueck is in his 15th season at Oregon State.

This is UConn’s second time competing in the Bahamas after playing in the 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
